About a week ago, Google began releasing the Android 15 operating system update for its Pixel series smartphones. Almost simultaneously, several manufacturers, including Motorola, started announcing which devices would receive the new version of the OS.
Now, TCL has revealed which of its models will be eligible for the new Android 15 update. Here are the details:
TCL Models Receiving the Android 15 Update
TCL recently published a list of smartphones and tablets that will soon receive the Android 15 update. The lineup includes multiple smartphones from the TCL 50 series and tablet models from the 8, 10, and 11 series. Here are the models that will get the new update:
- TCL 50 5G (expected to receive updates up to Android 16)
- TCL 50 NXTPAPER 5G (expected to receive updates up to Android 16)
- TCL 50 Pro NXTPAPER 5G (expected to receive updates up to Android 16)
- TCL 50 SE
- TCL 50XL 5G
- TCL 505
- TCL Tab 8 Gen 2 and LTE
- TCL Tab 10 NXTPAPER 5G
- TCL Tab 11 Gen 2 and LTE
- TCL Tab 11 FE
Even though the list is published, TCL’s performance in rolling out updates has historically been slower. So, if you own one of the devices listed above, it may still take some time before Android 15 arrives.
As seen in the list, several TCL models are expected to receive updates up to Android 16, benefiting from a two-year software update commitment and up to five years of security updates.
Previously, the company’s update policy generally included only one software update. However, TCL has made the anticipated improvements to this policy, much to the satisfaction of its users.
What do you think about this update policy?
